Reconciliation Action Plan
Vision For Reconciliation
Our vision for reconciliation is:
-
to celebrate the continued significance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander contributions in shaping a shared sense of national unity and identity
-
to work towards creating a fair, just and equitable Australia
-
acknowledging, honouring and learning from the invaluable and ancient knowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples have in caring for Country
We will work towards this through:
-
building trusting, respectful and authentic relationships within our community, including working alongside Elders to gain a deeper understanding of culture and practices
-
engaging in an ongoing, collaborative learning journey with our kindergarten community
-
continuing to share our learning and reflect on our collective understandings while we embed these perspectives within our program
Acknowledgement of Country
Thornbury Kindergarten acknowledges the Wurundjeri Peoples of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the Land which Thornbury Kindergarten is located on and the surrounding environments in which our programs run and the children, their families and staff engage with. We pay our respects to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, past, present, future and emerging.
